Vaccine Champs (Level 2)

This activity module aims for children to gain support when getting immunizations to help them feel less anxious. The learning objectives are to understand how the body recognizes disease-causing germs, to understand community immunity through physical movement and dance, and to understand ways to lower anxiety and manage the experience of getting vaccines through role play and online games.

 

Aim: Children learn how vaccines help prevent us from getting sick from disease-causing germs.

Ignite interest – engage kids in conversation about getting vaccines and how they work.

Time: 10-15 minutes

 

Aim: Children learn how vaccines help our bodies recognize disease-causing germs.

Ignite interest – engage kids in conversation about what they know about getting vaccines.

Time: 15-20 minutes

 

Aim: Children learn that when they get vaccines, they are helping protect others around them.

Ignite interest – engage kids in conversation about how people can work together in a community to help keep everyone healthy.

Time: 20 minutes

 

Aim: This interactive image game requires that each student understands the C-A-R-D system and how to use it.

Time: 15 minutes

 

Aim: This role-playing game requires that each student understand the C-A-R-D system and how to use it.

Aim: This game provides worksheets that require that each student understands the C-A-R-D system and how it applies to them.
