Heroes Know How to Collaborate (Level 1)
This activity module aims for children to build awareness and understanding of collaboration through games and activities. The learning objectives are to develop collaborative skills through play, to explore how countries work together to help each other, and to demonstrate how to work in teams and use communication skills and effective strategies to accomplish objectives.
Aim: Children will learn to communicate and find strategies to help them collaborate to accomplish tasks.
Ignite interest – engage children in conversation about how collaborating well is an important skill, especially in helping accomplish tasks.
Time: 10-15 minutes
Aim: Children continue to learn how collaborating with others helps achieve a common goal.
Ignite interest – engage children in conversation about how people and animals often collaborate to help each other.
Time: 15-20 minutes
Aim: Children develop an understanding of how communities can start through common understandings.
Ignite interest – engage children in conversation about how people can find things they have in common. No matter how different we are, there are also similarities we share.
Time: 20-25 minutes
Aim: Children learn about being connected.
Ignite interest – engage children in conversation about how even though each of us may be different, we can all still be connected in some way.
Time: 15-20 minutes
Aim: Members learn about how Canada supports people at home and abroad during natural disasters by distributing food and medical supplies.
Ignite interest – Engage members in conversation about how people help others during times of need, such as times of bad weather.
Time: 20-25 minutes
